Cinnamon Club - Review
The Old Westminster Library,
30-32 Great Smith Street, SW1P 3BU

Indian

The Cinnamon Club stands amongst the most prestigious Indian Restaurants in London, if not the most, with prices to match. The Restaurant is based in the old Westminster Library building which gives it a grand distinct colonial opulence reminiscent of the days of the Raj, with high ceilings, chandeliers, oak paneling etc. Service is of a high standard which would be expected of a Restaurant of this calibre. There is an extensive good quality wine list unusual for an Indian Restaurant, although this is not your typical curry house. We had the house red which was a decent French Wine and were given a couple of complimentary seafood cake starters which were excellent and were a taster for the glorious food to follow. Preparation is sharp and crisp with modern servings in old world surroundings. I had Beef curry which although modern in style and size was very good with beautiful tender pieces of meat. There is usually a set menu on offer which although limited in food choice is of excellent quality and a wonderful way to economically experience this fine Indian restaurant. A three course set menu is currently £22,excluding side dishes. For a special occasion this restaurant is highly recommended the Carte menu is expensive ,extensive and adventurous offering a fusion of dishes based on Modern Indian cuisine including duck, venison and swordfish curry. Main courses £12- £32

Other Reviews

Zara

This reasonably priced unpretentious Turkish restaurant situated in the heart of Hampstead was recommended to me late one evening by a passenger in the cab returning home from the city. He pointed out that the food at Zara was of excellent quality and worth a visit.

Babylon

Originally the Derry and Tom department store building, Babylon is situated on the 7th floor of this imposing 1930's building overlooking the 6th floor roof gardens and with views stretching out over south and south west London.

Belvedere

The Belvedere restaurant is located in the middle of the beautiful Holland Park. The building dates back to the 17th century and was the summer ballroom of the mansion once Holland House.
